Joe Maggio

Writer, Director and Sound Design

Joe Maggio’s first film, VIRGIL BLISS (2001), was nominated for two 2002 Independent Spirit Awards — The John Cassavetes Award (for best feature under $500,000) and Best Debut Performance (for actor Clint Jordan.) VIRGIL BLISS was purchased for theatrical distribution by First Run Features, and for North American cable by The Sundance Channel. VIRGIL BLISS was also theatrically released to critical acclaim throughout the United Kingdom. Joe’s second film, MILK + HONEY (2003) premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. It won a Special Jury Prize for Best Screenplay at the 2003 Atlanta Film Festival and was acquired by Wellspring Media. PAPER COVERS ROCK, Joe’s third feature, premiered at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival and was purchased by IFC Films for worldwide VOD and DVD distribution. His fourth feature, BITTER FEAST, will premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June 2010. He is currently in post-production on his fifth film, THE LAST RITES OF JOE MAY.

Ilya Chaiken

Is the writer/director of the critically acclaimed 9/11 drama LIBERTY KID which is now available from Kino International. Chaiken’s debut feature MARGARITA HAPPY HOUR premiered at Sundance 2001 and proceeded to such prestigious festivals as Los Angeles and Toronto before receiving distribution from Wellspring. She returned to Sundance in 2004 with the comedic short “The 100 Lovers of Jesus Reynolds”. Chaiken first received attention for her short films: “The Actress,” and “Match Flick,” and was granted a Statue Award for artistic excellence in film from the Princess Grace Foundation. She studied filmmaking at SUNY Purchase. Chaiken is currently finishing her third feature THE UNLOVEABLES, starring Elinor Huchins and Kevin Corrigan.

Glenn McQuaid

Sound Design and Music

Writer director Glenn McQuaid was born and raised on the North side of Dublin. McQuaid’s first Collaboration with Larry Fessenden came about when he coordinated the visual effects on THE ROOST. Since then he has worked on several of Glass Eye Pix productions including THE LAST WINTER, HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and STAKELAND. McQuaid’s feature debut I Sell the Dead was a festival favorite that sold to IFC and is currently available to rent or buy at all decent retailers. He is currently curating TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE, and developing various feature projects.

Shaun Brennan

Foley

Shaun Brennan is a Foley Artist by day (and night), and a rock-n- rolla by night (and day). Working in the top sound studios in New York and singing/playing guitar in the rock band Kung Fury. He currently lives in Manhattan and has been creating custom sound effects for films, television, radio plays and video games for more than nine years with over 120 film credits to date. Shaun studied Fine Art in Philadelphia and Photography in Northern Virginia, and has been writing and performing music since grade school. Other interests include, home recording with a variety of instruments and household products, marathon running, graphic design, writing, animals, people, collage and more…
