Gisela Fullà-Silvestre is a composer/sound designer from Barcelona based in Brooklyn.
She is influenced by foley sounds, strings, audio processing, hip hop, Bach, Iceland, science-fiction, Jarvis Cocker, circuit bending, Mali, flamenco music or kitchen noises.
Some of her credits as a sound editor/sound designer include the recently released MGMT new album trailer. Her sound design for the Prince Rama psych opera was premiered at MOMA this summer. She is credited as assistant sound editor for the last Larry Clark movie Marfa Girl, the sci-fi feature movie The Europa Report (premiered at the Natural History Museum of New York), the movie Days and Nights by Christian Camargo (featuring Katie Holmes and WIlliam Hurt), the sci-fi movie Plus One by Dennis Iliadis ( “The Last House on the Left”), the horror film Beneath by Larry Fessenden among others.
As a composer, Gisela is currently finishing the score for the MTV documentaries RebelMusic. She has done string arrangements for the Oscar winning artist Jorge Drexler. She has written jingles for MTV and other national commercials and has written several scores for movies and theatre plays: the animated movie Bingo (Media Factory LA), the movie Distant Light by Alexander Lau (premiered a the Busan International Festival) or the musical The Awakening (at the Brooklyn Lyceum) among others.
She’s releasing her debut album this fall and is currently working on the music for a puppet opera to be premiered this winter in New York.
